prices, exporters increased their prices ($5

minimize possible
foreign exchange losses
from the appreciation of the Thai Baht.
In addition, exportable supplies remain tight as rice paddy
pledges under the c
urrent MY2012/13 main

crop Paddy Pledging Program increased to an estimated 8.8
million metric tons (roughly 5.8 million metric tons milled equivalent) from October 1
January 10,
2013, which is almost double the amount the government received during the
same period last year.

Unofficial rice exports (excluding fragrant rice) for January 7
