"A delegation of Agriculture and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), National Research Centre (NRC), Pune and Grape Exporters' Association of India (GEAI) had visited Germany last month and held talks with the authority concerned and the importers and convinced them to start importing Indian table grapes. Indian Traders eye new markets in Iran and Iraq as wheat harvest begins

Wheat harvesting has begun across parts of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh and supplies will pick up in a fortnight across central, penisular and north India. With international wheat companies Cargill, Louis Dreyfus, Olam India, Glencore, and Noble yet to lease godowns, traders and warehouse owners are worried about offtake. Asian rice demand lifts prices in Thailand, Vietnam

Buyers seeking Thai rice to cover shortage due to port congestion in India has lifted prices in the world's top export nation this week, while demand from China and Africa also helped boost Vietnamese rice prices, traders said on Wednesday. Iran agrees to accept payment in rupee

Even as India and Iran resolved their long-standing issue of payments for export shipments, a high-level delegation of Indian officials, including businessmen, would be heading towards Tehran on March 10 to explore the huge business potential in view of sanctions imposed by the U.S. and European Union. India and Iran have agreed to accept payment in rupee term, a move that could unlock huge sums pending on both sides. .....

Punjab to get boost in agriculture with Horti Train

P. K. Basu, secretary of agriculture and cooperation, Government of India, the department has completed the successful trial of the first Horti train by transporting bananas from Bhusawal to Azadpur mandi in 26v hours.
