India has decided not to “suspend’’ trade talks with Pakistan in reaction to the violence at the Line of Control last month, but further movement in the liberalisation process has to be initiated by Islamabad, an Indian Government official has said. “The Ministry of External Affairs has informed the Commerce Department that it has no problems with the on-going two-way trade dialogue and the process should continue,” the official told Business Line.

India, the world's largest milk producer, today evinced interest to export skimmed milk powder among other farm items to Germany. It also asked Germany to invest in India's agriculture and food processing sector. Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Processing Industries Tariq Anwar discussed these issues in a meeting with the delegation of German Parliamentarians here today.

Cabinet is expected to discuss allowing extra wheat exports on Thursday, Farm Minister Sharad Pawar told reporters on Wednesday, as part of efforts to cut stocks at warehouses to make room for the new season crop. Recent rains have improved wheat productivity prospects, Pawar said, but have hit oilseed crops, he added, without giving details. Farmers in India, the world's biggest wheat producer after China, are likely to harvest a bumper crop in 2013, its sixth in a row to exceed demand.

"We believe that India and the US are stakeholders in the creation of an inclusive, participatory network of interdependence, cooperative trade, economic development, security and stability in the Asia of the Indo-Pacific.
