India and Mauritius are jointly working to find out a mutually acceptable and beneficial outcome on the Comprehensive Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA) which will be a "win-win" situation for both, President Pranab Mukherjee has said. Mukherjee, who is here on a three-day visit, said the Double Taxation Avoidance Convention (DTAC) cannot be seen in isolation, separate from the many strands that weave the tapestry of India-Mauritius relationship and efforts, and it should remain focused on realisation of the full potential of the bilateral ties. |

World Bank Chief Jim Yong Kim has said he expects the Indian economy to return to higher growth levels on the back of a resurgence in the global exports market. Kim said he expected the Indian economy to grow by six percent in 2013-14, up from a lower than expected five percent growth in the current year."India has made just extraordinary contributions to the global economy. Its shares in the global economy have almost doubled in the five years from 2005 to 2010, so India overall is a fantastic success story. |

The government may announce sops for sectors such as engineering and carpets in the forthcoming Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) to provide them cushion against the global slowdown. "We can expect more measures in the FTP. We are working on the FTP," commerce and industry minister Anand Sharma told reporters here. During the April-February period, exports declined by 4 per cent to USD 265.95 billion. Sectors like engineering and textiles are registering negative growth. These segments are likely to get some sops in FTP. |

India and Egypt have agreed to work towards early resolution of some of the issues being faced by major Indian companies that are operating projects in different parts of the African country. The India-Egypt Joint Trade Committee held its first meeting in Cairo on March 10 where both sides welcomed the significant increase in Indian investments in Egypt. The Indian delegation was headed by D S Dhesi, Additional Secretary in Ministry of Commerce & Industry while Said Abd-Allah, First Under Secretary in the Ministry of Industry & Foreign Trade headed the talks from the Egyptian side. |
