India Can Be $5 Trillion Economy In Next 7-8 Years: Suresh Prabhu.

Union Commerce and Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu Saturday said India has the potential to be a $5 trillion economy in the next 7-8 years. Addressing a seminar on exports at Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit here, Prabhu said his department had prepared a road map to make this possible by focusing on manufacturing,service sector and agriculture.    
 
India has a potential to be a $5 trillion economy in 7 to 8 years, and definitely a $10 trillion economy before 2035, Mr Prabhu said.

Suresh Prabhu says US-China trade war gives leverage to double nation’s exports.

The government of India is targeting to double its exports to USD 1 trillion in the next five years. Commerce and industries minister Suresh Prabhu shared his vision to increase exports from India to untapped regions of the world therefore, providing an impetus to foreign trade.
 
Prabhu was speaking at a seminar on 'Bilateral Trade', on Saturday, at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2019, in Mahatma Mandir.

India signs customs treaty with Holland to push business with Europe.

India and European economic major Netherlands last week singed Customs Treaty which will boost trade ties between the two countries through an efficicent management of customs rules. 
 
Menno Snel, Netherlands Minister for Customs and Taxation, during whose trip the Customs Treaty was signed told ET that the more efficient cargo can pass borders, whether in the Port of Rotterdam or Mumbai – or the airport of New Delhi, the more time and money is saved.

UAE-India trade to cross $100 billion by 2020: Minister.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment, and Dr Ahmed Al Banna, UAE Ambassador to India, on Saturday.

Czech Republic Prime Minister Andrej Babis was all praise for his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi and called 'Make In India' initiative a good strategy. Initiatives like Make in India can improve bilateral ties between both the countries, Babis said.
 
Babis, who was in Pune to launch the Symbiosis Centre for European Studies at the Symbiosis International Deemed University's Vimannagar campus, said he stated that there is a lot of scope for trade between both the countries.

Highlighting the Narendra Modi government's focus on Africa as a top priority in its foreign and economic policy, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Saturday said that strong India-Africa relations would redefine the contours of the international order on more egalitarian lines.
 
Speaking at the inauguration of Africa Day during the Vibrant Gujarat Summit here, Sushma Swaraj said India's long-standing ties with Africa had acquired vibrancy and dynamism during the last four years and the government had thus decided to open 18 new embassies and high commissions in the continent over the next few years, taking the total number to 47.

The US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) chairman Johan Chambers on Saturday said that India is on the fast track to become one of the largest economies in the world.
 
Speaking at a seminar as part of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit-2019, Chambers went on to say that Gujarat especially is emerging as an economically and socially advanced state in India. USISPF led a high-level delegation to the Vibrant Gujarat Summit. As a partner organisation for the summit, USISPF has encouraged investment in the state and will use the summit as a platform for its delegation to explore areas and sectors for collaboration with Gujarat.

Budget 2019: Govt may hike agri credit target to Rs 12 lakh crore.

The farm credit target is likely to be raised by about 10 per cent to a record Rs 12 lakh crore in the 2019-20 Budget to be presented on February 1, according to sources.
 
For the current fiscal, the government has set a credit target of Rs 11 lakh crore.

At the Magnificent Millets Festival and Dialogue, organised by NGO Kheti Virasat Mission, some 50 organic farmers from the region exhibited their produce for sale at the staff club and community centre, Panjab University, Sector 25, here.
 
While Umendra Dutt, executive director of the NGO, waxed eloquent on the benefits of growing millets, organic farming, sustainable agriculture and soil conservation, jaggery toffees by city’s homegrown company ‘Jaggic’ was a hit among the visitors.
