After his successful visits to two Eastern Countries, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, in an onboard media briefing En route from Bangkok, said, "ASEAN countries are our strategic partners and there are enormous opportunities of expanding trade ties, expanding investment relations, expanding maritime cooperation, expanding the scope of trade and investment."

China and India will be the largest investors among developing countries in 2030, accounting for 38 per cent of the global gross investment, says a World Bank report released on Monday. The two countries will also account for almost half the global manufacturing investment, it says. The report, titled ‘Capital for the Future: Saving and Investment in an Interdependent World’, said India’s share in global investments is expected to almost double by 2030.

Pakistan on Sunday said it was ready to shake hands with India in response to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's message of taking bilateral relations forward in a peaceful manner. Responding to the positive signals given out by India, the Pakistan High Commission said it would make every effort to bring about a "qualitative improvement in relations" between both neighbours.

A multi-party delegation of Indian parliamentarians has arrived in the US to hold series of meetings with top American government officials, lawmakers and think-tank to exchange views on bilateral and regional issues. Led by BJD leader Baijayant 'Jay' Panda, the seven-member delegation today met US Deputy Secretary of State William Burns at the State Department. Other members of the delegation are Supriya Sule (NCP), Bhakta Charan Das (Congress), Uday Singh (BJP), Partap Singh Bajwa (Congress), Manicka Tagore (Congress) and Prem Das Rai ( Sikkim Democratic Front).
