Anand Sharma calls on Mauritius PM

Commerce, Industry and Textiles Minister Anand Sharma, who is on a two-day visit to Mauritius, had a meeting with Mauritius Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam at Port Louis today. Sharma informed the Prime Minister of Mauritius that there was a need for deepening and diversifying trade and investment ties between the two countries.

Bilateral trade between India and Israel has gone up from a mere $120 million to $5 billion since the two nations formally established relations in 1992, but as president of the Israel-India Friendship Association (IIFA) she sees a much higher potential.

India,Vietnam hold talks; aims for bilateral trade of USD 7 bn

Indian and Vietnam today discussed ways to take forward their strategic partnership in key areas of commerce, defence and security. External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid, who held talks with Deputy Premier of Vietnam Vu Van Ninh, also expressed confidence that once Indian banks were fully operational in Vietnam it will provide further impetus to their economic ties and enable the two countries to achieve bilateral trade target of USD 7 billion by 2015.

India may be granted MFN this month

Pakistan is likely to grant most favoured nation (MFN) status to India within ongoing month of January by abolishing the negative list of trade, a top official of Commerce Ministry said on Wednesday.He further said that process of granting MFN status to India was delayed due to the reservations of local industry that would be addressed soon. Commerce Ministry is likely to issue notification to eliminate the negative list of trade in January 2013.
