Despite a decline in organically farmed land in India between 2009 and 2010, India’s export volume of organic produce has increased by 20 per cent. New research conducted by the Worldwatch Institute has noted that India plays host to around 4,00,551 organic farmers and leads the pack of global certified organic farmers, followed by Uganda which has 1,88,625 farmers and Mexico which has 1,28,826.

India has emerged as one of the most optimistic economies in the world where more than two-thirds of employers are planning to add full-time and permanent workforce in 2013. According to CareerBuilder's first annual job forecast for the 10 largest world economies, as many as 67 per cent of Indian employers plan to increase full-time permanent workers this year, 13 per cent plan to decrease and 17 per cent are expecting to make no change in the number of staff.

Bilateral trade between Malaysia and India is expected to breach US$15bil (RM45bil) this year, a fast-forward from the initial target year of realisation of 2015. Indian High Commissioner to Malaysia Vijay K. Gokhale said the movement of goods and services between Kuala Lumpur and New Delhi was expected to be over US$13bil last year. Even though the final figures are yet to be released, the envoy said continuous aggressive implementation of the Malaysia-India Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement and the ever-growing domestic demand in India was the major driver of the trade growth.

The Sultanate of Oman is seeking help of India, world's largest milk producer, to develop dairy industry in the Gulf. A four-member delegation from Sultanate of Oman recently visited the headquarters of National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) in milk city - Anand to seek the national dairy board's assistance for the same. It was for the first time that a delegation from Oman visited NDDB.
