India allows export of non-Basmati white rice to Mauritius.

The central government has permitted exports of 14,000 tonne of non-basmati white rice to Mauritius, an official notification showed.
Notably, the export of non-Basmati white rice was prohibited in July 2023 to check domestic prices and ensure domestic food security.

The meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Surjit Bhujabal, Special Secretary and Member (Customs), Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, Government of India, and Mr. Sonam Jamtsho, Director General, Department of Revenue and Customs, Ministry of Finance, Royal Government of Bhutan.

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on Tuesday announced to hold the 16th annual edition of Agrotech India Agri Trade fair, rebranded as Krishi Bharat, in Lucknow between Nov 15 and 18.
Billed as one of the largest agricultural sector conclaves, the event will strive to improve the agriculture ecosystem through technology.

India offered sugarcane sop vastly in excess of WTO limits: US and Australia.

US and Australia alleged India of giving subsidies to sugarcane farmers far exceeding limits set in global trade norms.

Sugar producers seek export resumption as output is likely to outdo demand.

Expecting this sugar season’s (September 2023 - October 2024) output to exceed demand, India’s sugar producers are demanding 20 lakh tonnes be allowed to be exported. The Indian Sugar and Bio-Energy Manufacturers Association (ISMA) said production has reached 314 lakh tonnes in the first seven months of the 2023-2024 sugar season. With additional output of almost six lakh tonnes expected from the sugar mills in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, the net sugar production is estimated to be close to 320 lakh tonnes.
