Award for Excellent Display at Aahaar
 

The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), an apex organization under the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, is mandated with the responsibility for Promotion and Development of the export of scheduled products namely Fruits, Vegetables and their Products, Meat and Meat Products, Poultry and Poultry Products, Dairy Products, Confectionery, Biscuits and Bakery Products, Honey, Jaggery and Sugar Products, Cocoa and its products, chocolates of all kinds, Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic Beverages, Cereal products, Groundnuts, Peanuts and Walnuts, Pickles, Papads and Chutneys, Guar Gum, Floriculture and Floriculture Products, Herbal and Medicinal Plants, Rice (Non-Basmati). More than 10,000 exporters of APEDA scheduled products are registered with APEDA.

For providing a platform to its member exporters for displaying their products and finalize business deals, APEDA regularly participates in AAHAAR event through Ministry of Food processing industries (MoFPI) regularly. This year also APEDA along with MoFPI is participating in the event held from 10-14th March, 2011, at a large scale and has set up its pavilion by taking a space of 2366 Sq. mtr. in Hall number 18. Around 43 exporters of processed food products, rice and fresh produce are participating through APEDA.  State nodal agencies of MFPI have also setup their booths in the pavilion to showcase the potential of food processing in the state.

To make the participation of exporters more successful in the event, APEDA organized a Buyer-Seller meet (BSM) on 11-12th March 2011 at the event place. Buyers from different countries attended the BSM.

APEDA pavilion at the event place was inaugurated on 10th March, 2011 by Mr. Ashok Sinha, Secretary, MoFPI and by Dr. Subhas Pani, CMD, ITPO.

APEDA bagged the award for excellent display at AAHAAR 2011 exhibition.
