Indian Food products received good response in the India show organized from 20th - 22nd May 2011 at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The show was organized by CII in association with Ministry of External Affair and Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt. of India. The show was inaugurated by Shri Anand Sharma, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Govt of India.

APEDA organized participation in this event to show case range of food products such as Wine, Basmati Rice, Biscuits, Confectionary, Snacks, Instant fruit drinks, Custered powder, Cereal products etc. Special campaign through wet sampling of Indian Wine, Basmati Rice Biryani and snack food items received tremendous response.

The India show was organized ahead of the Indo-Africa Forum Summit organized during 24th – 26th May 2011 by Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Dr. Man Mohan Singh, Prime Minister of India, Shri S M Krishna, Minister of External Affairs of India and Shri Anand Sharma, Minister of Commerce and Industry of India attended the summit along with 15 African national heads to enhance South – South co-operation in the area of trade, investment, development and technology transfer.

From Indian point of view Ethiopia is an up coming market having full of opportunities for investment, trade, development and technology transfer.
