UAE set to face food safety trials

THE UAE has formulated control measures for food materials and products at border crossing points, sale outlets, preparation and storage points and production centres, in addition to developing national standards and laboratory tests of these materials, said the UAE Minister of Environment and Water Rashid Ahmed Bin Fahad.

Mexico: the import of corn will increase 47.6%
02March 2011
The reform newspaper in Mexico reported on February 25, the minister of Agriculture in Mexico affirmed that Mexico will import 700,000 tons white corn this year in order to guarantee the supply of tortilla which is the staple food.
