Calling for a second green revolution, the Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Shri Jyotiraditya M Scindhia said that with proper investment in agriculture, technical innovation and infrastructure for food processing India could well become the food basket of the world. Speaking at the APEDA Export Awards function which coincided with the celebrations of 25 years of APEDA, Shri Scindhia said that agriculture sector is critical for our economy as 60-70 percent of our population is dependent on it |

India agrees rice sale to Bangladesh

But resorting to world grain market can be seen as a way to help China actively secure grain security. According to statistics released on Friday by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, China imported agricultural products valued at 17.5 billion US dollars from the United States in 2010, accounting for 15.1 percent of the total exports of agricultural products of the US. |
