FP industry calls for rollback of excise duty, more fiscal incentives

The AIFPA (All India Food Processors' Association) appreciates the various growth oriented proposals made in the Union Budget-2011-12. However, we believe that the proposal to levy excise duty on perishable fruits & vegetables along with namkeens, milk, coconut water etc, could be counter productive to growth and saving wastages of agri and horticultural produce as well as employment generation.
