US senators from top pulse-producing states urge Trump intervention to reduce India tariffs.
Two US lawmakers have urged President Donald Trump to push for favourable provisions for pulse crop in any future trade deal with India, saying American producers face a 'significant competitive disadvantage' due to what they described as 'unfair' tariffs imposed by New Delhi. In a letter dated Jan 16 addressed to Trump, Republican Senators Steve Daines of Montana and Kevin Cramer of North Dakota said their states are the top two producers of pulse crops, including peas, while India is the world's largest consumer, accounting for about 27 per cent of global consumption.

UAE, India eye expanded imports of Kazakh meat.

India–New Zealand FTA cuts tariffs on cherries and apricots.
Under the agreement, tariff arrangements have been set out for cherries and apricots entering the Indian market. Import duties on cherries will be reduced from the current level of 33% to zero through a phased elimination over a ten-year period from the agreement's start date. For apricots, tariffs will be reduced by half over five years, lowering duties from 33% to 16.5%.
