India is studying the implications for its bilateral trade deal with Washington after the US Supreme Court scrapped President Donald Trump’s decision to impose tariffs, a move that gives New Delhi room to reassess its strategy, people familiar with the matter said. The South Asian nation is not considering backing away from the agreement struck earlier this month, under which it secured lower US tariffs on its exports and signaled intent to buy $500 billion of American goods over five years, they said, asking not to be named because the matter is sensitive.

Aligning the initiative with the Prime Minister’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, the Minister said India’s ambition to become a $30–35 trillion economy by 2047 rests on three pillars — zero defect (quality), zero effect (sustainability), and equitable opportunity (inclusivity).

India’s spice exports breached 1.8m tonnes last year.
India remains world's largest producer, consumer and exporter of spices, with exports crossing 1.8 million tonnes valued at over $4 billion last year, former G20 Sherpa and former CEO of NITI Aayog Amitabh Kant said here on Monday. He called on spice industry to shift decisively from bulk exports to high-value, branded and technology-driven products.He was inaugurating the four-day International Spice Conference (ISC 2026), organised by All-India Spices Exporters Forum (AISEF).

India’s next agricultural revolution will be powered by artificial intelligence, Union Minister of Science and Technology and Earth Sciences Jitendra Singh said on Sunday, positioning AI as the central pillar of future farm policy, research and investment. Addressing the inaugural session of the AI4Agri 2026 Summit in Mumbai, the Minister said AI has, for the first time, the ability to provide scalable solutions to long-standing structural challenges in agriculture, including erratic weather, information gaps and fragmented markets.

India advises rice exporters to refrain from sending to Lebanon on concerns over MRL norms.
The government has advised India’s rice exporters to be cautious in sending consignments to Lebanon which has put into place European quality standards, amid reports of some rejections of the cereal. 'It is advised that the exporters may implement risk mitigation measures or refrain from exporting the rice consignments containing residues exceeding the MRLs permitted under EU regulations,' said APEDA’s General Manager Vinita Sudhanshu.

Bangladesh’s food grain imports surge.
BANGLADESH’S food grain imports soared in the first half of the 2025-26 marketing year, as the private sector reacted to government initiatives aimed at strengthening buffer stocks, mitigating market volatility, and safeguarding national food security amid escalating global geopolitical uncertainty. According to data from the Bangladesh Food Ministry, wheat imports by both the public and private sectors in the six months to December 31 totalled 4.2 million tonnes (Mt). This was 42 percent higher than the same period in 2024, with wheat accounting for 84pc, or 3.5Mt, and the 700,000t balance being rice.

Indian mango prices rise as early Alphonso supply remains limited.
Hapus or Alphonso mangoes from the Konkan region have been arriving in Pune's Gultekdi market for the past few weeks, but supply remains limited, and prices are elevated. Around 30 boxes are arriving daily, mostly from Devgad taluka, with some supplies from Ratnagiri district. Each box contains between four and six dozen mangoes.
