FOCUS PRODUCT: GRAPES
 
Grape (Vitis vinifera) is grown from temperate to warm regions; however, hot and dry climate is ideal. Indian grapes come in varied characteristics namely colored, white, seeded, unseeded, large and small berries. More than 20 varieties are under cultivation in India. However, only a dozen are commercially grown.

India is the seventh largest producer of Grapes, producing more than 4% of the global production, at 3 million tonnes per year. The main groundnut producing states in India are Maharashtra (78.3%), Karnataka (18%), Tamil Nadu (2%), Mizoram (0.6%) and Andhra Pradesh (0.5%).
