Since 2014 it has continued to authorize optional use of ePhyto, international standard for electronic transmission protocols and procedures for plant health certification, although it has been not fully implemented in most countries.

This report is an annual update of Senegal’s food and feed regulations and governmental enforcement mechanisms and bodies. It includes references to the Codex Alimentarius system, as well as, guidance on import procedures and documentation. Since 2013, Senegal has not issued new food standards. All standards are available upon request to the Association Senegalaise de Normalisation (ASN).

Senegal : Food and Agricultural Import Regulations and Standards - Certification
This report is a reissuance of the 2013 FAIRS export certificate report with no additional certificates. Senegal, as member of the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) has adopted the ePhyto, international standard for electronic transmission protocols and procedures for plant health certification, approved in April 2014 in Roma. Senegal extended the application of phytosanitary certificate to eleven national land borders to better monitor imported plant and plant products. This report provides information on export certificates required by the Government of Senegal (GOS) for processed food, animal products, live animals (cattle, pets, etc), plants, and products for animal consumption.

This report is an annual update of Senegal’s food and feed regulations and governmental enforcement mechanisms and bodies. It includes references to the Codex Alimentarius system, as well as, guidance on import procedures and documentation. In 2013, Senegal revised its food standards and issued new standards mainly related to the methods for conducting pysicochemical tests and fatty content. The standards are available upon request to the Association Senegalaise de Normalisation (ASN).
