Major changes in 2017 include (1) the DR’s enforcement of the sanitary registration requirement to all food products produced domestically and imported, especially for dairy products and wine; (2) a requirement that labels for prepackaged foods be in the Spanish language and placed at origin; and (3) a Certificate of No Objection to be issued by the Ministry of Health before alcoholic beverages can be imported into the DR.
