District as Export Hub’ training program held in Srinagar.

The Directorate of General Foreign Trade, Ministry of Commerce, and The Federation of Indian Export organisation (FIEO) in association with The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (Inc) organised a seminar on 'District As Export Hub-Promotion Training Programme' at Srinagar on Thursday.
 
Experts there said that Jammu and Kashmir has to go a long way in boosting exports from the region and there are various opportunities for the locals in it.
 
Sukhdev Banerjee, Asstt. Director General of Foreign Trade, Aruna Narula, Member, Business Excellence Support Team, DGFT, Gaurav Gupta, FIEO, Mr.Vijay Paul,  Branch Head, Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India, Srinagar were Guests at the event.
 
The experts were addressing a training program titled ‘District as export hub’ in Srinagar. The program was jointly organised by The Federation of Indian Export Organisation (FIEO) and Kashmir Chamber Of Commerce and Industries (KCCI) in association with the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT).
Gaurav Gupta, head of North Punjab FIEO, started the session with a welcome address and Sukhdev Banerjee from DGST gave an introduction about foreign trade policy and its possibilities in the region. 
Aruna Narula, a member of business excellence support at DGFT explained the starting points, process, and information regarding the export procedures. The role of various schemes provided by DGFT was also discussed.
 
During the training program, Narula said Jammu and Kashmir has a lot of opportunities in the future regarding exports. Vijay Paul, Srinagar Branch Manager of Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India (ECGC) ltd explained the credit insurance policy and hailed the organizers of the training program.
'These kinds of workshops are very beneficial for exporters and the awareness of general people,' he said.
 
President KCCI, Sheikh Ashiq also shared his experience in the seminar. Talking to Rising Kashmir, he said, 'We want our youth to be involved in exports. From last 4 to 5 years, we have seen a decline regarding this but now I feel there is an opportunity for all of us to get it back on track,'
Mr. Rouf Ahmad, the former president of KCCI congratulated the organisers and also expressed his hope of seeing many such events in near future. The end of the program was marked with addressing queries from the audience and giving mementos to the attending officers.
 
The program was attended by young entrepreneurs and other officials from various departments.
