Wheat procurement exceeds last year’s total as Punjab, Haryana farmers contribute maximum.

The wheat procurement during the 2024-25 season that normally ends in three months (April-June) has surpassed last year’s total of 26.2 million tonnes (mt) mainly due to robust purchases made in Punjab and Haryana, which also are the hotbed of farmer protests in the last few years.
