Farmers in Bihar's Nalanda district are happy that potatoes grown by them through organic farming will be exported to Russia, an official said on Friday. R.K. Sohane, director, Bihar agriculture management and extension training institute ( Bameti), said a Delhi-based export firm, Indian Potato Ltd, is keen to purchase one lakh tonnes potatoes from the Nalanda farmers for export to Russia.

Therefore, a crucial role is being envisaged for livestock in a system of sustainable agriculture by the Agriculture Ministry in its report “State of Indian Agriculture”.

Trade and economic ministers of India and 10-member ASEAN Friday agreed to conclude the ongoing negotiations to widen the base of free trade agreement between them by including services and investments. Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma, who was in Siem Reap (Cambodia) to attend the 10th ASEAN-India Economic Ministers Consultations, reviewed the progress of talks with his ASEAN counterparts.

The office of the Indian Chamber of Commerce was officially launched here Sunday to promote economic, trade and investment ties between India and Cambodia. The office is to act on behalf of Indian business organisations and individuals for business facilitation, regulatory exchange as well as to promote India-Cambodia economic and bilateral relations, Xinhua reported, citing a press release.
