New USDA Rule Would Require Meat Additives On Nutrition Labels

Additives in meat can cause sodium content to be higher than consumers realize. Currently, meat with additives is not labeled. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Food and Safety Inspection Service (FSIS) is proposing a new rule concerning labeling meat additives. The proposed rule was posted a few weeks ago on the USDA’s FSIS website. There is a 60 day period when people can.....

Continue ban on endosulfan in Kerala and Karnataka, not in other states: SC told

A central expert committee has given a report to the Supreme Court endorsing ban on sale and use of endosulfan in Kerala and Karnataka but said farmers in other states could be allowed to use the pesticide for agriculture. However, the expert committee jointly chaired by director general of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and Agriculture Commissioner of India in its interim report to the court found ample proof of health.....

Indian Dairy: Biggest contributor to agri GDP; milk is largest agri. Commodity

The Indian dairy sector is the largest contributor to the agriculture Gross Domestic Product (GDP). In terms of output, milk is now the single largest agricultural commodity in India.
