Export ban on rice, wheat may end

India may soon lift a ban on the export of wheat and rice with production of both cereals exceeding targets, a government official said. The next meeting of an empowered group of ministers (eGoM), scheduled next week, is expected to permit the export of 2 million tonnes (mt) of wheat and 1 mt of rice, the official said, requesting.....

Thai Polls Outcome May Spike Rice Price

The price of rice in the region benchmarked against Thailand's may spike if the country's opposition party, Pheu Thai, which favours higher rate for the grains wins the Sunday poll.
Yingluck Shinawatra, who is leading the favoured party and expected to be named as the first woman Prime Minister in Thailand, plans to restore a policy.....

Govt Urged to Review Duty-Free Import Policy : Zimbabwe

MINISTER of State in VP Joice Mujuru's office, Sylvester Nguni has challenged Government to review the duty-free import policy saying it was hurting agricultural productivity and the manufacturing industry.
