Registration Procedure back
Importer Exporter Code (IEC) is mandatory for export/ import from/ to India as detailed in paragraph 2.05 of this Policy. DGFT issues Importer Exporter Code in electronic form (e-IEC). Application for issuance of e-IEC can be made directly on the DGFT we portal (http://dgft.gov.in)

i. Application Process:
  1. Step 1 : Click on the link “Online IEC application” on DGFT website http://dgft.gov.in.
  2. Step 2 : Fill up Applicant Details in Part A and submit.
  3. Step 3 : Registration Code will be sent at the email and / mobile number provided by the applicant. It will enable the applicant to fill further details in the Application form. Remember or write down the Registration Code at any safe place. This may be required in case of deficiency note requiring refilling of information/documents.
  4. Step 4 : Fill in relevant columns in Part B and C.
  5. Step 5 : The Declaration/Undertaking as in Part D may be read carefully and the box underneath it may be ticked as token of having read and accepted the Declaration/ Undertaking. The details of the signatory applicant may also be filled thereafter.
  6. Step 6 : The digital photograph, requisite documents (as detailed below) and the application form may then be uploaded.
  7. Step 7 : In Part E, review the information submitted and check to ensure that documents uploaded are legible and then pay the application/modification fee.
  8. Step 8 : Select the concerned Jurisdictional Regional Authority. Details of appropriate Regional Authority are also available at https://www.dgft.gov.in/CP/
  9. Step 9 : Filing application along with the requisite documents ‘online’ is mandatory. Those with digital signatures can sign the application form digitally and submit it to Jurisdictional RA. OTHERS Take a print out of the complete form. The Declaration /Undertaking is to be signed and uploaded alongwith other requisite documents. Thereafter the signed application form is required to be submitted through post or handed over in the office of the concerned Jurisdictional Regional Authority. No documents are required to be attached.
  10. Step 10 : On submission of the form, a confirmatory message/sms of receipt would be sent on the registered email/ mobile number.
  11. Step 11 : After processing of documents/details an email would be sent at the email address of the applicant informing that an e-IEC has been approved and a digitally signed e-IEC (no. ........) has been generated . The e-IEC can be viewed and printed by clicking on “Online IEC application” on the DGFT website (http://dgft.gov.in/) and submitting the requisite details therein. Or a rejection letter would be sent on e-mail, conveying the grounds of rejection.

ii. IEC application fee is Rs. 500/-. For Modification the Fee is Rs 200/-
iii. Mode of Payment of application fee:
  • For payment of fee the applicant can use the Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT from the bank account of the applicant) mode.

  • For Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT), the Applicant should have a Net Banking Account with one of the following designated banks:
    • i. HDFC Bank
    • ii. ICICI Bank
    • iii. Bank of India
    • iv. State Bank of India
    • v. Central Bank of India
    • vi. Punjab National Bank
    • vii. IDBI
    • viii. Axis Bank
    • ix. Union Bank of India
    • x. Oriental Bank of Commerce
Registration Procedure with APEDA :
  1. Step 1 : Sign-up through the APEDA Website. (Click on "Register as Member" link on the Home Page). ”.
  2. Step 2 : The exporter requires to first enter the basic detail, IE CODE, Email ID & Mobile number and submit.
  3. Step 3 : An OTP (One Time Password) for confirming the details will be sent on E- mail and Mobile number. Exporter should enter the OTP of mobile and E-mail on the verification screen to verify the both and click on Submit to proceed for application.
  4. Step 4 : After verification confirmation, exporter will require to fill online application and upload the required documents. The documents should be in the JPEG, PDF or PNG formats only. The exporter should enter all required information carefully and ensure correct information is submitted in the on- line application form.
  5. Step 5 : On-line application can be completed in one or more sessions by revisiting the website using the assigned OTP (One Time Password) of E-mail and Mobile. After filling the fields, the exporter can save the information in between by using the Save button. The exporter can edit the filled data until online payment is not made.
  6. Step 6 : The exporter may submit registration fees of Rs. 5000/- excluding taxes = Rs. 5900/- (with GST) may be made through any of the following modes:-

Online

  • Credit Card(Master Card and Visa)
  • Debit Card (MasterCard and Visa)

Offline

  • Demand draft in favour of “APEDA” payable at respective cities of APEDA offices
  • (Note :- APEDA GST No. – 07AAAJA1150H1ZU)
  1. Step 7 : After completion of Payment process an application number will be generated.
  2. Step 8 : On issuance of RCMC, Login detail is sent to the registered email of the exporter. The Exporter may login in to their account through “Exporter Login” link given at APEDA website.
  3. Step 9 : The exporter can view the status of the RCMC application by clicking the "Track Application" link to view the status of application by submitting the IE Code and Application number until it is issued.
  4. Step 10 : In case of any shortcoming is observed in the application the exporter will require to resubmit the document online. Therefore, exporter is required to monitor the status of the RCMC application as informed above at Step 10.
  5. Step 11 : Following documents are required with application form:
  • I. For Merchant exporter :- 1. Self-certified copy of Import-Export code issued by D.G.F.T.
  • II. For Manufacturer exporter:- 1. Self-certified copy of Import-Export code issued by D.G.F.T. 2. Exporter should furnish a self- attested copy of the registration of the company with the relevant certification agencies for the products given below :-
Product Certification Agency
Floriculture and Fruits & Vegetable Seeds: Department of Horticulture /DIC/SIA/FSSAI
Herbal & Medicinal Plants Department of Horticulture /DIC/SIA/FSSAI, certificate issued by any Govt. institution of Ayurveda.
Fresh Fruits & Vegetables Department of Horticulture /DIC/SIA/FSSAI
Groundnut/Pulses/Guargum FSSAI/ Certificate issued by MSME (Udyam Registration certificate) / NOC issued by Pollution Control Board.
Processed Fruits & Vegetables/Other Processed Fruits & Vegetables/ Processed Food Products/Dried and Preserved Vegetables/Cereals preparations/ Misc. Preparations/Non-Alcoholic Beverages/Cocoa Products FSSAI/ Certificate issued by MSME (Udyam Registration certificate) / NOC issued by Pollution Control Board.
Dairy/Poultry/Honey/Meat FSSAI/MSME (Udyam Registration certificate) / NOC issued by Pollution Control Board.
Cereals and Cereal Products: FSSAI/MSME (Udyam Registration certificate) / NOC issued by Pollution Control Board.
Alcoholic Beverages FSSAI/ Department of Excise Commissioner/ NOC issued by pollution control Board.
Cashew Kernels/ Cashewnut Shell Liquid/ Karanol Products FSSAI/MSME (Udyam Registration certificate) / NOC issued by Pollution Control Board.

Note: No Hard Copy of any document is required for seeking RCMC from APEDA.

  1. Step 12 : After the approval of RCMC from APEDA officials, exporter may take printout of their Certificate through their APEDA Login under the heading of “View RCMC Certificate” under RCMC Menu.
Renewal of RCMC:
 
  1. I. For Merchant exporter:- There will be auto-renewal of RCMC in case of Merchant exporter after making payment of registration fee after five years, no requirement for submission of any document.
