India can Become Food Basket of the World: Jyotiraditya Scindhia

Calling for a second green revolution, the Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Shri Jyotiraditya M Scindhia said that with proper investment in agriculture, technical innovation and infrastructure for food processing India could well become the food basket of the world. Speaking at the APEDA Export Awards function which coincided with the celebrations of 25 years of APEDA, Shri Scindhia said that agriculture sector is critical for our economy as 60-70 percent of our population is dependent on it

Non tariff barriers need to be taken more seriously: Dr. Rahul Khullar

Indian agricultural products will have to move up the value chain in order to achieve the export target of 15 billion dollars in the next three years and the main challenge for the sector will be to deal with emerging range of non-tariff barriers, Union Commerce Secretary Rahul Khullar, said here today.

Danish Food Company starts import of Pakistani dates

Leading Danish Food Company CASTUS A/S has started import of Pakistani dates from southern of Pakistan to develop healthy fruit bars for children in Denmark. CASTUS will be importing around 800 tons of dates per year carrying a total value of USD 650,000/-.
