कृषि क्षेत्र में डिजिटल व्यवस्था को मजबूत करने की दिशा में सरकार तेजी से काम कर रही है। देश में अब तक 10.77 करोड़ से अधिक Farmer ID बनाई जा चुकी हैं। सरकार ने कुल 14 करोड़ Farmer ID बनाने का लक्ष्य रखा है। Farmer ID के जरिए किसानों को सरकारी योजनाओं और कृषि सेवाओं से जोड़ने की प्रक्रिया को अधिक आसान और पारदर्शी बनाया जा रहा है।

Gujarat eyes GI tags for more items under ODOP push.
Gujarat has identified a primary product from each of its 33 districts under the Centre’s One District One Product (ODOP) programme and is now looking to aggressively pursue geographical indication (GI) tags for a large number of these products. State govt has proposed expediting the process of obtaining GI tags, which will boost exports and increase incomes of local producers, artisans, farmers and MSMEs.

India, Switzerland expand trade ties, sign mobility agreements.
India and Switzerland today agreed to widen market access for Indian exports, including textiles, and signed new agreements covering migration and mobility, young professionals, and transport, mobility and infrastructure after talks in New Delhi between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Swiss President Guy Parmelin. Modi said the decisions would support exports of Indian agricultural products, pharmaceuticals, textiles and engineering goods to Switzerland, while also encouraging Swiss investment in India in areas such as biotechnology, life sciences, banking, insurance, food processing and sustainability. 'We invite Swiss infrastructure companies to invest in India at a large scale and participate in capacity building, design, and manufacturing,' he said.

India reaches 84% of 2037 cold-storage target; single commodity uses three-fourths of it.
Though India has reached 84 per cent cold storage capacity required for 2037-38, three-fourths of this capacity is used for a single commodity and half of it in two states, according to a new report by FICCI and Grant Thornton Bharat. The report titled ‘India’s cold chain: From storage to a chain’ finds that two decades of investment have created a substantial storage base, providing the foundation for the country’s next phase of cold chain development.

India and the US appear to have reached a plateau in negotiations for a trade agreement, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said, indicating that further concessions from either side could prove difficult after what she described as a hard and very rigorously negotiated agreement. 'The agreements, negotiations are still ongoing, although we like to believe that both sides have reached a plateau, beyond which giving or taking might be very, very difficult,' Sitharaman said in a discussion at the Munich Leaders Meeting in New Delhi.

India and the US could still conclude a limited interim trade agreement covering areas where negotiations have already been completed, even as the two sides appear to have little room left for further concessions, according to the Global Trade Research Initiative (GTRI). The think tank said Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's remarks on Monday that negotiations had reached a 'plateau' need not contradict Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal's statement last week that India was ready to finalise an early, balanced and mutually beneficial interim agreement.
