Andhra Pradesh tops India in egg production with 2,739 crore eggs in FY25
Andhra Pradesh Animal Husbandry Minister K Atchannaidu on Thursday said the state topped egg production in the country in FY25 with over 2,739 crore eggs. The Animal Husbandry Minister said the southern state accounted for over 18 percent of India’s egg production of 14,911 crore that year.

Global trade to grow 4% in 2026, slower than 4.4% in 2025: UNCTAD
Global trade is expected to grow 4% in 2026 “well above what was anticipated when the conflict in the Middle East began” but slower than 4.4% in 2025, the UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) said Friday. In its 2026 Trade and Development Report, the UNCTAD said that in 2026, higher trade values are being driven by price increases amid the energy shock and export controls, investment screening and supply-chain conditions are making strategic sectors harder for new entrants to access.

300-member Canadian trade delegation heads to India as countries look to firm up ties
Canada will send nearly 300 business delegates to India next week under its largest trade mission to the country in over 30 years. according to an official statement issued on Friday, as Ottawa seeks to expand commercial ties and "more than double bilateral trade" by 2030. The business delegation, led by Canadian Minister of International Trade Maninder Sidhu, will isit Mumbai and Bengaluru from October 12 to 17.

India is rapidly broadening its network of free trade agreements to integrate deeply with global economies, empower micro, small, and medium enterprises, and accelerate national economic expansion, Union Minister Piyush Goyal said on Saturday. Speaking at the 121st Annual Session of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Union Minister stated that New Delhi has concluded nine trade pacts covering 38 developed economies over the past four to four and a half years, transforming the country into an attractive destination for international trade.

GST reforms: 38,700 exporters to get faster refunds, wider access to input tax credits.
Almost 38,700 export taxpayers will become eligible to claim cash refunds on input taxes paid on services and plant and machinery, directly addressing the long-standing issue of working capital being locked up under the indirect tax framework. The GST Council also changed the refund process, wherein 90% of the claim will be released automatically based on a risk check, while the remaining amount will be paid after the usual verification. Exporters stand to benefit from faster GST refunds, with the acknowledgement deadline reduced to 10 days from 15 days.

Black Sea attacks hit yellow peas, sunflower oil supplies to India.
Russia's exports of yellow peas to India have come to a halt in the past two months following attacks on its ports in the Black Sea amid the protracted war with Ukraine, lifting prices of the pulses by more than 10%. Sunflower oil shipments have also been affected, which is expected to make it pricier than other cooking oils, said importers.

Exports to hit $1 trillion this fiscal: Piyush Goyal.
Commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal on Thursday expressed confidence that India would achieve $1 trillion in exports of goods and services in the current fiscal. 'We have set a (target of) big growth in exports...we are looking at $1 trillion exports...and I am confident after looking at the first half numbers that we will achieve this,' Goyal said at an event organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry.
