केंद्रीय वाणिज्य और उद्योग मंत्री श्री पीयूष गोयल ने 1,500 से अधिक अग्रणी जापानी कंपनियों का प्रतिनिधित्व करने वाले सर्वोच्च आर्थिक संगठन केइडनरेन (जापान बिजनेस फेडरेशन) के साथ एक गोलमेज सम्मेलन को संबोधित करते हुए कहा कि भारत-जापान साझेदारी पारंपरिक व्यापार से कहीं आगे बढ़कर आर्थिक सुरक्षा, रक्षा, आपूर्ति श्रृंखला लचीलापन, प्रौद्योगिकी, नवाचार, स्वच्छ ऊर्जा और लोगों के बीच आदान-प्रदान जैसे रणनीतिक क्षेत्रों को शामिल करने के लिए विस्तारित हुई है।

Export prices for Indian Kabuli chickpeas have risen further this week. Larger sizes in particular have seen significant price increases. This trend reflects firm demand in key export markets, particularly in Turkey and the United Arab Emirates. The higher export prices are also providing support on the Indian domestic market. As a result, the market situation has recently become firmer overall. Chickpeas, 42-44 (12 mm), are currently trading at USD 1,145/mt FOB India.

In a significant step towards strengthening direct farmer-to-consumer marketing, Director Agriculture Kashmir Sartaj Ahmad Shah on Thursday flagged off a consignment of exotic King Oyster mushrooms produced by Shally Farm, Zakura, Srinagar. Speaking on the occasion, the Director underscored the importance of promoting innovative and value-added mushroom cultivation in Kashmir. He said such initiatives would provide mushroom growers with better marketing opportunities, encourage entrepreneurship and strengthen direct linkages between producers and consumers.

The National Horticulture Board (NHB) has tightened eligibility norms for financial assistance under its commercial horticulture and cold storage schemes, while revising subsidy rates and application charges with immediate effect. In a circular dated August 21, the Board said the amendments were aimed at rationalising financial assistance, ensuring equitable distribution of benefits, preventing duplication of subsidies and making implementation of its schemes more transparent.

The government on Friday relaxed the eligibility criteria for One Star Export House status, allowing exporters to qualify based on their export performance in any two of the three preceding financial years. The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) amended the Foreign Trade Policy to revise the requirement, under which exporters earlier had to meet the prescribed export performance criteria in all three preceding financial years.

The amendment in certain provisions of the Foreign Trade Policy to make it easier for exporters to invoice overseas sales and receive payments in Indian rupees will promote rupee internationalisation in trade settlement while providing exporters greater flexibility and certainty, CII said on Friday.
