Urad prices surge on tight supplies, rise in rates in origins.
Urad (black matpe) leads the firm trend in prices of pulses on tight supplies, a rebound in demand and concerns over deficit rain affecting kharif sowing. The all-India average wholesale mandi prices of urad, as collated by the Agriculturei Ministry on the UPAG portal, have increased by about 20 per cent over the past month, while the trend in other pulses varieties has been mixed.

Onion growers welcome agri market near Vadhvan port, urge govt to develop Nashik as export hub.
Maharashtra's onion growers have welcomed the state government's plan for a world-class agricultural market near Vadhvan port in Palghar, but urged authorities to simultaneously develop Nashik as a 'National Onion Export Hub' to help India emerge as the world's leading onion trading nation. The Maharashtra State Onion Growers' Association said that the proposed international agricultural market would boost agricultural exports, food processing, employment and the rural economy, but stressed that its benefits must directly reach farmers.

ASEAN, Africa lead India's export growth in first two months of FY27.
Asean and African regions emerged as the biggest contributors to India's export growth during the first two months of the current fiscal, according to the commerce ministry data. During April-May 2026-27, exports rose 16.09 per cent year-on-year to USD 88.91 billion.

Afghanistan seeks deeper trade ties with India, pitches for easier business access.
Afghanistan's top trading body has called for expanding trade and investment ties with India, stressing the need to ease business procedures, remove administrative barriers and facilitate the issuance of business visas. The proposals were discussed in Kabul during a meeting between Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI) Chairman Sayed Karim Hashemi and Indian Ambassador to Afghanistan Yatin Patel.

Little known to outside world, Ladakh’s apricot hits global market with 5 metric tonnes shipped to UAE.
Apricot from Ladakh is finally on its way to hit the global map of the fruit market. This season, the Ladakh administration was scaling up the export to over 1000 metric tonnes, 'a monumental leap from just 1500 kg export in the previous two years. Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena on Wednesday (July 15, 2026) said the first five metric tonnes of organic apricots consignment was flagged off to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

APEDA Facilitates First Export of Premium Areko Cherries and Scentrose Plums from Jammu & Kashmir to Singapore.
In another significant boost to the horticulture exports of Jammu & Kashmir, the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, facilitated the first export shipment of premium Areko Cherries (High-Density European Sweet Cherries) and Scentrose Plums from Shopian and Pulwama to Singapore. The milestone follows the successful export of fresh cherries and plums from the region to Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the UAE, further expanding the global footprint of Kashmir's premium temperate fruits.
