During the Berlin leg of the visit, Shri Piyush Goyal will participate in the Berlin Global Dialogue, engaging with international policymakers and global business leaders to highlight India’s macroeconomic stability, manufacturing capabilities and pivotal role in building resilient global supply chains. On the sidelines of the summit, the Minister will hold high-level bilateral meetings with the German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) and the Economic and Financial Policy Advisor and G7/G20 Sherpa at the Federal Chancellery of Germany. The meetings will focus on strengthening bilateral trade and investment corridors, accelerating technological and industrial cooperation in advanced engineering, green mobility and clean technology, and exploring market access and investment avenues arising from the ongoing India–EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations

India’s $100 billion European Free Trade Association cheque is slow to clear as Vietnam joins the club.
Vietnam signed a free trade agreement with the four-nation European Free Trade Association (EFTA) on October 18, joining India as an Asian economy with a pact with the bloc while both have trade deals with the European Union at different stages. EFTA comprises Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein, which are not EU members. The agreement was signed in Hanoi by senior representatives of the four EFTA states, including Swiss President Guy Parmelin, and by Vietnam's Minister of Industry and Trade Le Manh Hung, according to an EFTA document. Its entry into force is pending, the document said.
