Chhattisgarh tribal farmers focusing on fruit orchards to boost income.
Tribal farmers across Jashpur, Balrampur and Surajpur districts in Chhattisgarh are turning to cashew, mango, pear, litchi, guava and apple orchards to boost their income. A media statement said around 3,500 farmers are growing pears on around 3,500 acres of land in the hills of Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh. With an annual pear harvest of about 1.75 lakh quintals, farmers are generating income to the tune of Rs.1-1.50 lakh per acre a year, it said.

भारत-ब्रुनेई दारुस्सलाम संयुक्त व्यापार समिति (जेटीसी) की तीसरी बैठक द्विपक्षीय व्यापार और आर्थिक सहयोग की समीक्षा करने और दोनों देशों के बीच वाणिज्यिक संबंध मजबूत करने पर चर्चा करने के लिए बुलाई गई थी। बैठक की सह-अध्यक्षता वाणिज्य एवं उद्योग मंत्रालय के वाणिज्य विभाग के संयुक्त सचिव श्री अमित वर्मा और ब्रुनेई दारुस्सलाम के अर्थव्यवस्था, व्यापार एवं उद्योग मंत्रालय के स्थायी सचिव (अर्थव्यवस्था एवं व्यापार) डॉ मेय फ़ेज़ा अहमद अरिफिन ने की। दोनों देशों के संबंधित मंत्रालयों, विभागों और संगठनों के प्रतिनिधियों ने विचार-विमर्श में भाग लिया।

सितंबर 2026 के लिए अखिल भारतीय थोक मूल्य सूचकांक (डब्ल्यूपीआई) मुद्रास्फीति दर वार्षिक आधार पर 139 प्रतिशत है, जबकि अगस्त 2026 में यह 9.92 प्रतिशत थी। सभी वस्तुओं के लिए सितंबर 2026 का सूचकांक 112.5 है, जबकि अगस्त 2026 में यह 110.8 था।

The Ministry of Food Processing Industries is actively undertaking the ongoing Special Campaign 6 with a focus on institutionalising cleanliness, improving records management, promoting efficient disposal of pending matters and ensuring optimum utilisation of office space. During the Campaign, the Ministry is undertaking focused action on the identification and disposal of pending references from Members of Parliament, State Governments, Inter-Ministerial references, Parliamentary Assurances, PMO references, Public Grievances and grievance appeals. The Campaign also provides an opportunity to strengthen record management through review, categorisation, recording and weeding out of physical records and closure of e-files, in accordance with extant Government guidelines.

Chouhan calls for boosting farm productivity under PMDDKY.
The Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan has called for coordinated efforts across government departments to improve agricultural productivity and farmers’ incomes under the Prime Minister Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY). Addressing a national conference on PMDDKY at the Bharat Ratna C. Subramaniam Auditorium at the Pusa campus in New Delhi, Chouhan emphasised the importance of district-level planning based on ground realities, regular monitoring and convergence among ministries to accelerate agricultural development.

MSMEs need to focus on quality, cost to gain from new FTAs: Secy.
India's expanding network of free trade agreements (FTAs) and economic partnerships is opening new opportunities for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to expand their global footprint, but improving quality and cost competitiveness will be critical for converting these opportunities, said MSME ministry secretary Bharat Khera. 'The opportunity does not automatically translate into growth,' he said on Tuesday, underlining the need for enterprises to build greater trust through quality and become globally cost-competitive. Speaking at the CII Global MSME Business Summit, Khera said government schemes aimed at promoting exports would need to be complemented by practical assistance and handholding, particularly for first-time exporters.

Canada is leading its largest trade delegation to India in more than 30 years, with nearly 300 business delegates set to explore partnerships across key sectors as both countries advance negotiations on a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), Canadian International Trade Minister Maninder Sidhu said. In a post on X, Sidhu said the mission would focus on aerospace, clean energy, technology, life sciences, agri-food and forestry, as Canada seeks to expand commercial ties with one of the world's fastest-growing major economies.
