India to give tariff concession for DDGS imports from US, but with a cap. The Indian government has considered tariff concession for imports of animal feed DDGS (dried distillers grains with solubles) from the US under a quota in its deal with Washington but the volume will be restricted, according to Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying. In a written reply to question on whether the government has given permission to import of animal feed DDGS and other grains from the US in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, he said that in the backdrop of growing demand for animal feed in the country, DDGS has been considered for tariff concession within a quota. The Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers’ Rights Authority (PPVFRA) has formally published the registration of 'Nagauri Paan Methi' (Paan Methi) as a Community Farmers’ Variety. Agriculture & Allied Sector GVA More Than Doubles to ₹48.77 Lakh Crore in 2023-24; Foodgrain Production Continues to Rise. As per the latest estimates of GVA released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoS&PI), the composition of Agriculture & Allied Sector in total GVA is about 18%. Further, as per the National Accounts Statistics, the GVA of agriculture and Allied sector for 2014-15 is estimated at Rs. 20,93,612 Crore and for 2023-24 it is estimated at Rs. 48,77,867 Crore.
