Coffee exports up 125 pc to $1.8 billion in last 11 years: Govt data.
The country's coffee exports have jumped about 125 per cent to USD 1.8 billion in the last 11 years on account of a series of measures taken by the Coffee Board of India, according to the central government data. The exports stood at over USD 800 million in 2014-15. It was USD 1.28 billion in 2023-24 and USD 1.14 billion in 2022-23, the data showed.

Karnataka mango growers to be compensated jointly by Centre, State under PDPS scheme.
In a major relief to the mango farmers in Karnataka, the Centre and the State government have decided to jointly compensate the growers by paying the differential price. The decision to pay the differential price for 2.5 lakh tonnes of mangoes grown in the state was taken during a video conference between the Union Agriculture Minister Shivaraj Singh Chouhan and the Karnataka Agriculture Minister N Chaluvaraya Swamy. Union Agriculture Secretary Shri Devesh Chaturvedi also participated in the virtual meeting, an official statement.

Exporters have suggested shifting cargo movement from Bandar Abbas port to the Chabahar port in the wake of Iran-Israel conflict, stating any further escalation in the war would severely impact trade with Afghanistan, Central Asia, and Russia, an industry official said on Friday. Govt says pulses, oilseeds production rising as MPs express concern over imports.
The government has told a parliamentary committee that domestic production of pulses and edible oils has risen at a greater pace in the last 10 years than the decade before, amid concerns raised by MPs over India's dependence on imports to meet demand. A presentation to the Standing Committee on Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Food Processing said imports at 15.66 million metric tonnes (MMT) accounted for 56 per cent of the domestic demand for edible oils in 2023-24.
