India is focusing on enhancing its banana exports to Russia, following successful trial shipments to countries like the Netherlands via sea route, as stated by an official. The nation aims to achieve a $1 billion target in banana exports in the foreseeable future. Currently, the export of fruits including bananas predominantly occurs through air due to lower volumes and varied ripening periods. To boost volumes, India is formulating sea protocols for fresh produce such as bananas, mangoes, pomegranates, and jackfruit, aiming to facilitate their exportation through maritime channels.

Nashik collector eyes faster grape imports for checks.
District collector of Nashik, Jalaj Sharma, has said that he would write to the Union agriculture ministry to hasten imports of international grape varieties to Nashik, a move that will help farmers in the region better assess their competition from around the world.
Sharma said a quicker import process will help local farmers bridge the gap, if any, between what they produce and what's being consumed internationally. He also said this would lead to better earnings among Nashik's grape growers.

Indian rice lowest offer in Bangladesh tender for 50,000 T.
The lowest price offered in the tender from Bangladesh's state grains buyer to buy 50,000 metric tons of rice that closed on Monday was assessed at $477.00 a tonne CIF liner out for rice sourced from India, an official in Bangladesh and European traders said.

Indian Cabinet nod for 1 Million Tonnes white rice export to IndonesiaL, says Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
The Indian Cabinet on Wednesday approved a plan to export of 1 million tonnes of non-basmati white rice to Indonesia through the National Cooperative Export Ltd (NCEL).
Announcing the decision, Union Agriculture Minister Shivaraj Singh Chouhan said an agreement will be signed by the Indonesian government’s agency Bulog with India’s notified canalising agency NCEL.
