FOCUS PRODUCT: SWINE MEAT
 
Pig meat is the most widely consumed animal product in the world, accounting for about 38% of meat production worldwide. Pork, flesh of hogs, usually slaughtered between the ages of six months and one year. The most desirable pork is grayish pink in colour, firm and fine-grained, well-marbled, and covered with an outer layer of firm white fat.

India produces around 0.4 million tonnes of Swine Meat per year. The main Potato producing states in India are Bihar (20%), Uttar Pradesh (16.8%), Maharashtra (12.8%), West Bengal (8.3%) and Jharkhand (5.4%).
