With the aim of promoting the significance and uniqueness of Tezpur's famed litchi at the national and international levels, the second edition of the Tezpur Litchi Festival-2026 will be held on June 6 and 7 with an elaborate two-day programme at the Tezpur District Library premises. The decision was taken at a meeting held on Tuesday at the conference hall of Prashanti Lodge under the Tourism Department in Tezpur in the presence of representatives from various sectors.

Nashik grape exports slip by 9.6% in 2025-26 amid weather shocks.
Grape exports from Nashik district fell by 9.6% in the 2025-26 season (April–Nov), declining to 1.4 lakh tonnes from 1.6 lakh tonnes a year earlier, as adverse weather conditions disrupted production and reduced export-grade output. Exporters attributed the decline to prolonged and unseasonal weather events, including continuous rain from May 6 to mid-Oct last year and hailstorms between March 19 and April 3 this year, which damaged vineyards and compressed the harvest window.Agriculture department officials said initial fears of a steep decline of up to 50% in exports did not materialise, as improved crop management and sustained international demand helped limit losses to single digits.

Planing 500 delegations, outreach to 1,600 industry chambers to boost FTA utilisation: Piyush Goyal.
The commerce ministry is preparing granular plans to boost the utilisation of free trade agreements (FTAs) by Indian industry, including sending 500 delegations abroad, training 1,000 people, and engaging with 1,600 industry chambers, Union Minister Piyush Goyal said on Tuesday. The commerce and industry minister asked the Indian industry to increase utilisation of these pacts as it will help boost exports and attract investments at a time when the global economy is facing challenges.

Odisha’s Dhenkanal farmers export 3 tonne of mango to London.
A total of 3 tonne of Amrapali mangoes, the first international consignment of the current mango season, has been exported from Dhenkanal in Odisha to London. A media statement said the export was done under the guidance and institutional support of the Directorate of Horticulture, Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment (DA&FE), Government of Odisha.

All-time high export figure this year and trade deficit much lower than annual remittances indicate strong economic performance: Shri Goyal.
Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Shri Piyush Goyal addressed the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Annual Summit today in New Delhi and said that the Indian economy has continued to show resilience amid global geopolitical and economic challenges, with strong fundamentals and growing global confidence in India. Shri Goyal said India remains the fastest-growing large economy and highlighted that the country has nearly 11 months of import cover in foreign exchange reserves. Referring to India’s export performance, he said the country is set to achieve an all-time high export figure of nearly USD 863 billion this year. He added that India’s trade deficit in goods and services together is much lower than the country’s annual remittances, reflecting strong economic performance.
