Guava is already grown across a wide production belt, including Raipur in Chhattisgarh, Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan, the Nadia region of West Bengal, Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh, Nashik in Maharashtra and parts of Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. The main production windows are December-January and the rainy season, while cultivation has expanded significantly as more farmers move from traditional crops into horticulture.

India’s jaggery exports were valued at $46.67 million in 2025-26, marginally lower than $49.39 million in the previous year, according to data from the Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence and Statistics (DGCI&S) cited by the Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Ramnath Thakur, in a written reply to the Lok Sabha. Responding to a question by MP Gowaal Kagada Padavi, the Minister said exports for April-May of the current 2026-27 fiscal stood at $5.66 million. Jaggery export values had risen steadily from $32.47 million in 2021-22 to $42.68 million in 2023-24 and further to $49.39 million in 2024-25, before easing slightly in 2025-26.

Korea, India vow closer ties in customs affairs.
The Korean customs agency said Wednesday it has agreed with its Indian counterpart to bolster cooperation in customs affairs and facilitate smoother trade between the two countries. The Korea Customs Service (KCS) said it met with officials from India's Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs in New Delhi on Tuesday (Indian time), asking the Indian government to support smooth customs clearance for Korean businesses.

Centre intensifies drive for oilseed, pulse self-reliance.
The Centre is intensifying efforts to boost domestic production of oilseeds and pulses as part of its broader push towards self-reliance in edible oils and food security. The National Mission on Edible Oils-Oilseeds (NMEO-OS), approved on October 3, 2024, aims to raise primary oilseed production from 39 million tonnes in 2022-23 to 69.7 million tonnes by 2030-31. Separately, the Government launched the Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses on October 11, 2025, with the target of increasing pulse production from 242 lakh tonnes to 350 lakh tonnes by 2030-31.

भारत-नामीबिया संयुक्त व्यापार समिति(जोटीसी) का चौथा सत्र 10 और 11 अगस्त 2026 को नई दिल्ली में आयोजित किया गया। भारतीय प्रतिनिधिमंडल का नेतृत्व वाणिज्य एवं उद्योग मंत्रालय के वाणिज्य विभाग के संयुक्त सचिव श्री अमित कुमार ने किया, तथा नामीबियाई प्रतिनिधिमंडल का नेतृत्व नामीबिया गणराज्य की सरकार के अंतर्राष्ट्रीय संबंध और व्यापार मंत्रालय की कार्यकारी निदेशक सुश्री एनडीता एनघिपोंडोका-रोबियाती ने किया। सत्र के सहमत कार्यवृत्त पर दोनों सह-अध्यक्षों द्वारा 11 अगस्त 2026 को हस्ताक्षर किए गए। उद्घाटन भाषण वाणिज्य विभाग के अतिरिक्त सचिव श्री यशवीर सिंह द्वारा दिया गया।

कृषि प्रौद्योगिकी में हुई प्रगति ने उत्पादकता बढ़ाकर, संसाधनों के कुशल उपयोग को बेहतर बनाकर, खेती की लागत को कम करके, कठि परश्रम को न्यूनतम करके और जलवायु परिवर्तन के अनुकूल कृषि पद्धतियों को बढ़ावा देकर कृषि क्षेत्र में महत्वपूर्ण बदलाव कर दिया है। उन्नत कृषि मशीनरी, सटीक खेती, ड्रोन, कृत्रिम बुद्धिमत्ता (एआई), इंटरनेट ऑफ थिंग्स (आईओटी), रोबोटिक्स, सेंसर, रिमोट सेंसिंग, भौगोलिक सूचना प्रणाली (जीआईएस), उपग्रह आधारित अनुप्रयोग, स्वचालन और डिजिटल प्रौद्योगिकियों जैसी आधुनिक तकनीकों को कृषि कार्यों में तेजी से एकीकृत किया जा रहा है।

सतत कृषि पद्धतियाँ
कृषि राज्य का विषय है। सरकार विभिन्न योजनाओं और कार्यक्रमों के माध्यम से सतत कृषि को बढ़ावा देने के लिए राज्य/संघ राज्य क्षेत्र सरकारों के प्रयासों में सहायता कर रही है। इन स्कीमों के तहत संतुलित पोषक तत्व प्रबंधन, कुशल जल उपयोग, संरक्षण कृषि, एकीकृत कृषि प्रणालियों, कृषि वानिकी, प्राकृतिक और जैविक खेती और जलवायु-अनुकूल कृषि प्रौद्योगिकियों को बढ़ावा देने पर जोर दिया जा रहा है।
