Talks under way to clear stranded ships with Namakkal eggs.
While it has been more than 10 days after a shipment from Namakkal carrying nearly 3.5 crore eggs remains stranded at sea due to the ongoing Israel-Iran war, the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has said it is in talks with shipping lines in Dubai to ensure the safe movement of the consignments. Exporters from Namakkal said about 70 containers, each carrying nearly five lakh eggs, were shipped to Middle Eastern countries in a single vessel on February 28. However, due to the prevailing war, the vessel has not been able to reach the designated ports.

War in Iran hits fruit exports from Mumbai.
The ongoing war between US-Israel and Iran has started impacting Indian exports, especially of agricultural produce, to West Asia, especially the Gulf nations. In Maharashtra, more than a thousand containers of fruits are stuck at Mumbai’s Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), India’s largest container handling port also known as Nhava Sheva, leaving exporters distraught. Iran war impact: Govt mulling diversion of stranded cargo to new markets.
India has begun assessing whether export cargoes stranded or in transit due to the escalating West Asia crisis can be diverted to alternative markets, as the government moves to cushion the impact of the disruption on outbound shipments. The commerce and industry ministry has asked goods exporters to provide details on the scope for rerouting consignments currently stuck in transit or awaiting shipment, people familiar with the matter said.
