With this, US President Donald Trump will now have to take a final call on the much-anticipated India-US trade deal. According to the CNBC TV18 report that cited sources, the Indian side has put forward a proposal that touches nearly $150 billion to $200 billion worth of goods trade between the two nations. The US administration is currently assessing the level of market access this deal would offer to American companies.

To accelerate Bengal's industrialisation, state govt would host a business and industrial conclave after the Pujas, Amit Mitra, principal chief economic adviser to CM Mamata Banerjee, said on Tuesday. India and the US are nearing a mini trade deal with politically and economically sensitive sectors of dairy and agriculture likely to be excluded from the pact, officials said. 'The deal is in its conclusion phase,' said an official. 'Most issues related to agri may be discussed later.
