Trade pacts, Red Sea route resumption to aid India’s FY26 exports to $1 trn: FIEO. India’s overall goods and services exports are expected to reach $1 trillion in FY26 aided by more trade agreements with key trade partners coming into force amid Indian export consignments having gradually started moving through the Red Sea route again, Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) said Tuesday. In 2024-25, India’s exports were $825 billion. FIEO President S C Ralhan said that merchandise exports will increase to $525-535 billion this fiscal from $437 billion, led by electronics, agriculture and petroleum products while services exports are seen rising to $465-475 billion from $387 billion. India participated in the 9th BRICS Industry Ministers’ Meeting held under the Chairship of Brazil on 21st May 2025 at the Itamaraty Palace, Brasília – Federal District. The overarching theme of the meeting was 'Strengthening Global South Cooperation for More Inclusive and Sustainable Governance'. India-US trade deal talks: US team to visit India in June; Goyal to meet export promotion councils Tuesday. India’s trade negotiations with the US is entering the final leg, with Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal set to meet members of export promotion councils (EPCs) on Tuesday, and the US trade team likely to arrive in India next month for talks as New Delhi aim to wrap up negotiations by the end of the 90-day reciprocal tariffs pause, which ends on July 9, The Indian Express has learnt. The consultation meeting with EPCs is scheduled after Goyal led the Indian delegation to Washington last week, where he met US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick to advance trade talks. India, Maldives to review implementation of economic, maritime security partnership on Monday. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and his Maldivian counterpart Abdulla Khaleel will on Monday take stock of the implementation of the India-Maldives comprehensive economic and maritime security partnership. India's marine exports jump 18% in April amid US tariff clouds. India’s marine products exports soared by almost 18 per cent in April this year, a month when the United States-- the largest importer of India’s seafood -- rattled the world with its sweeping tariffs only to hit the pause button later. While the marine exports rose by almost 18 per cent in dollar terms, it was 21 per cent in rupee terms in April when compared with the same month last year, data showed. Horticulture deserves better amid export hurdles and safety norms. Horticulture has emerged as one of the key growth engines of Indian agriculture. The production of fruit, vegetables, and other horticultural crops has consistently outstripped that of food grains ever since 2011-12. This agricultural year, 2024-25 (July to June), the output of horticultural products is projected at 362 million tonnes, which is nearly 10 per cent higher than the anticipated food grain output of 331 million tonnes, though the land under horticulture is merely one-fourth of that under grain crops. US officials likely to visit India for next round of talks on interim trade pact: Sources. A team of US officials is expected to visit India in the coming weeks for the next round of discussions on the proposed interim trade agreement between the two countries, sources said. The visit gains importance as India and the US are likely to agree on an interim trade agreement before July 9, with New Delhi pushing for full exemption from the 26 per cent reciprocal tariff on domestic goods. Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Rural Development Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan's ' Vikasit Bharat Sankalp Padyatra ' reached Bijla Jod , Chanda Grahan Jod and Bhairunda villages of Budhni Assembly constituency on the second day today , where Shri Shivraj Singh discussed with the people present about the public welfare schemes of the Central Government. During the padyatra, Shri Chauhan first met the youth in Bijla Jod and interacted with them , during which he praised Operation Sindoor and the valor and valor of our armies. Then he also interacted with the beneficiaries of Street Vendor Scheme and Vishwakarma Scheme.
