US: Organic sales rise to $28.6 billion

U.S. sales of organic products grew nearly 8 percent in 2010, reaching $28.6 billion, according to the Organic Trade Association’s (OTA) new 2011 Organic Industry Survey. Organic fruits and vegetables, which represent 39.7 percent of total organic food sales, experienced the most growth reaching nearly $10.6 billion in sales in 2010, up 11.8 percent from 2009 sales.

Japan Seeks to Buy 336,518 Tons of Milling Wheat in Tender

Shipment is set from May 16 to June 15 for the Canadian wheat, and from June 1 to June 30 for the other origins, Masafumi Otsuka at the ministry’s grain-trade division said today by phone. |
