India, Pakistan two-day trade talks begin
28April 2011
The much-awaited two-day of talks between India and Pakistan have begun in Islamabad on Wednesday.Indian Commerce Secretary Rahul Khullar, who had arrived in Lahore with an official delegation on Tuesday, and his Pakistani counterpart Zaffar Mehmood started talks on trade expansion and removal of non-tariff barriers between the two countries.

Panel of ministers to decide on India wheat exports

A panel of Indian ministers would decide on India wheat exports next week, according to a report in moneycontrol.com citing India’s Food Minister, K.V Thomas. The minister had ruled out exports of wheat on Tuesday saying that such an action would affect the domestic prices.

Most agricultural prices across EU soaring

Most agricultural prices across the European Union have been soaring for months and in February 2011 veal price even exceeded the highest prices registered between 2007 and 2009 (+5%), the Bulgarian Ministry of Agriculture and Food announced.

Uttar Pradesh Inc has demanded a single window system for enhancing agri exports from the state. Although UP is primarily an agrarian economy, the state has been laggard in the export of agricultural produce due to apathetic attitude of the government and absence of incentives.
