New Zealand's Agriculture Trade Minister signed MOC with India.
Agriculture and Trade Minister Todd McClay announced signing a Memorandum of Cooperation with India during his trade mission in the country. In a press release, the New Zealand government said the MOC reinforces its commitment to continue collaborating with India's horticulture sector, with a key milestone of NZ and India's horticultural partnership being the mutual development of the kiwifruit sectors.

India, Vietnam enhance parliamentary cooperation and trade ties.
NA Vice Chairman Nguyen Duc Hai met with Speaker of the Indian Lok Sabha (lower house) Om Birla on March 17 as part of his visit to India from March 14-19, aiming to deepen political trust and boost cooperation across a variety of fields. Vice Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai congratulated India on its impressive development under the leadership of the government and parliament, with the National Democratic Alliance, led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), at its core. He highlighted India’s significant achievements in the economy, military, and science and technology, which have strengthened its regional and global influence.

India’s pulses import bill tops $5-billion mark for FY25.
India’s pulses import bill has crossed a whopping $5 billion for the current financial year on record purchases of tur (pigeon peas/arhar) and chickpeas (chana or gram) by the largest consuming country in the world.

Devgad Alphonso mangoes to feature tamper-proof UID seal for authenticity.
In a bid to protect the authenticity of Devgad Alphonso (Hapus) mangoes, the Devgad Taluka Mango Growers Cooperative Society Limited, the registered proprietor and custodian of the Alphonso GI (Geographical Indication) tag, has introduced a Tamper-Proof UID Seal (TP Seal) system for all Devgad Hapus/Devgad Alphonso mangoes.

Initiatives undertaken to Promote Organic Farming.
Government is promoting organic farming through the schemes of Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY) in all the States/UTs and Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region (MOVCDNER) scheme is being implemented. Both the schemes stress on end-to-end support to farmers engaged in organic farming i.e. from production to post-harvest management training and capacity building. The main focus of the PKVY and MOVCDNER schemes is to promote natural resource based integrated and climate resilient sustainable farming systems that ensure maintenance and increase of soil fertility, natural resource conservation, on-farm nutrient recycling and minimize dependence of farmers on external inputs.

India-Malaysia MoS Level Bilateral Meeting held in New Delhi.
The Union Minister of State for Commerce & Industry and Electronics & Information Technology, Shri Jitin Prasada had a bilateral meeting with Mr. Liew Chin Tong, Malaysian Deputy Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry on 18th March 2025, in Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi. Malaysian Diplomats and Senior Govt. Officials from the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry, Malaysia and from the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Ministry of External Affairs and Bureau of Indian Standards from Govt of India were also present during the meeting.

RBI and Bank of Mauritius sign pact on use of local currencies for bilateral transactions.
Reserve Bank and the Bank of Mauritius (BOM) have signed a pact for establishing a framework to promote the use of the Indian Rupee and the Mauritian Rupee (MUR) for cross-border transactions. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra and BOM Governor Rama Krishna Sithanen G C S K, the central bank said in a statement on Tuesday.

Nepal vows to strengthen ties with India through trade and global cooperation.
Nepal’s Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba on Monday stated that Nepal is concentrating on a 'closer relationship' with India by expanding commerce and collaborating on global concerns. 'We are focussing on closer relationships, vis a vis trade, especially energy trade and trade of our goods and maybe legalising our borders and working together on global issues also we hope to be working together.' Deuba stated.

'EFTA-FTA very positive step to enhance India-Norway trade relations' says FM Espen Barth Eide .
Norway's Foreign Affairs Minister, Espen Barth Eide, has welcomed the European Free Trade Association (EFTA)-India Free Trade Agreement, calling it a 'very positive step' to boost trade relations between India and Norway. Speaking to ANI, he said, 'The EFTA (European Free Trade Association)-India Free Trade Agreement is a very positive step to enhance India-Norway trade relations. There are already over 100 Norwegian companies here and more will come and I have seen a strong interest from both sides.'
