'India’s pineapple acreage has more than doubled over five years'.
India's pineapple sector has experienced stable growth over the last few years, led by a 60% rise in acreage since 2020, says Githu James, Managing Director of Pineco Foods Pvt. As FTA talks gain momentum, New Zealand opens Its market to Indian grapes for the first time.

According to an official response from Ministry for Primary Industries (New Zealand) (MPI), the country is currently consulting on a draft Import Health Standard (IHS) to enable shipments of Indian grapes. This regulatory milestone comes at an opportune moment, as both nations are deep into negotiations for a comprehensive free trade agreement (FTA).

Commerce Secretary Shri Rajesh Agrawal met Mr. Vladimir Ilyichev, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, for the 26th Meeting of the India-Russia Working Group on Trade & Economic Cooperation under the aegis of the Inter-Governmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technological and Cultural Cooperation (IRIGC). The two sides reviewed bilateral trade, which has risen to well over twice the leaders’ 2014 benchmark of US$25 billion, and took note of the shared objective of US$100 billion by 2030. A forward looking protocol for trade and economic cooperation across multiple sectors was finalised and signed during the meeting.

Govt to soon allocate Rs 2,000 cr for Credit Guarantee Scheme for Exporters.
The government will soon allocate Rs 2,000 crore for the Credit Guarantee Scheme for Exporters announced by the Union Cabinet on Wednesday, sources said. National Credit Guarantee Trustee Company Limited (NCGTC) would require Rs 2,000 crore to extend credit facilities of up to Rs 20,000 crore to eligible exporters, sources said, adding that some money is already with the company.
