US, EU trade deals could unlock $400 billion for India’s agri sector.
Trade agreements with the US and the 27-nation bloc European Union (EU) have opened up an opportunity of USD 400 billion for India's agriculture sector, an official said on Monday. At present, India's agricultural exports to the US stand at USD 2.8 billion, while imports are only USD 1.5 billion.

India-US trade deal: Trade team heading to Washington next week for legal pact.
India's chief negotiator for trade talks with the US, Darpan Jain, will lead a delegation to Washington next week to finalise the legal agreement for the India-US trade deal, which is likely to be signed in March, commerce secretary Rajesh Agrawal said Monday. The visit is likely to start on February 23. Earlier this month, India and the US released a joint statement to announce that a framework for an interim trade agreement has been finalised.

India, UK making genuine effort to see if FTA can be operationalised in April: Commerce Secy.
India and the UK are making a 'genuine' effort to see if the bilateral free trade agreement can be operationalised in April this year, Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agrawal said on Monday. India and the UK, on July 24, 2025, signed the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) under which 99 per cent of Indian exports will enter the British market at zero duty, while tariffs on British products such as cars and whisky will be reduced in India.

India's sugar exports reach 2.01 lakh tonnes till February in 2026 MY: AISTA.
India has exported 2,01,547 tonnes of sugar through February in the current 2025-26 marketing year, with the United Arab Emirates the top destination, the All India Sugar Trade Association (AISTA) said on Monday. Sugar exports remain under government control through quotas distributed proportionally among mills. The central government has approved total exports of 2 million tonnes for the 2025-26 marketing year (October-September), including an additional 500,000 tonnes permitted recently.

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will launch a new digital companion 'Bharat-VISTAAR', which was announced in the Budget for 2026-27, on Tuesday for farmers across the country from Jaipur. This AI-based platform will provide information to farmers about weather, rates in mandis (agri market yard), pests and diseases, soil health, crop advice and government schemes through phone calls, chatbots and through the App.

NABARD-NCDEX price protection scheme helps growers harvest benefits.
A price protection scheme jointly launched by NABARD and the National Commodities and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) a year ago has begun to help farmers, particularly cultivating turmeric, manage price volatility by taking part in options trade in the derivatives market. Under the scheme, NABARD subsidises premiums for put options for farmer-producer organisations (FPOs) across seven states. The crops covered under the scheme are turmeric, jeera (cumin) and dhaniya (coriander).

The cumulative exports (merchandise & services) during April-January 2025-26 is estimated at US$ 720.76 Billion, as compared to US$ 679.02 Billion in April-January 2024-25, an estimated growth of 6.15%.
India’s total exports (Merchandise and Services combined) for January 2026* is estimated at US$ 80.45 Billion, registering a positive growth of 13.17 percent vis-à-vis January 2025. Total imports (Merchandise and Services combined) for January 2026* is estimated at US$ 90.83 Billion, registering a positive growth of 18.76 percent vis-à-vis January 2025.
