India's exports may reach $950 billion in FY27 on West Asia trade pacts.
India's goods and services exports could reach $840-850 billion in FY26 and rise to about $950 billion in 2026-27, driven by free trade agreements particularly with West Asian countries and strength in services and technology-led sectors such as electronics, exporters said. Rising tariff barriers and climate-linked trade restrictions, however, are expected to pose significant challenges to sustaining export growth, they added.

150 Northeast products identified for GI tagging over next two years.
At least 150 unique products from the North Eastern region have been identified for Geographical Indication (GI) tagging over the next two years, the government said on Monday, in a move aimed at protecting and promoting the region’s indigenous heritage and traditional industries. The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER) is leading efforts to secure GI tags for distinctive agri-horticultural produce, handloom and handicraft items from across the region.

Rabi sowing area posts strong growth, overall coverage up by 6.87 lakh hectares.
The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare has released the latest data on Rabi crop sowing for the 2025–26 season, reporting a robust expansion in coverage compared with the previous year. As of December 26, 2025 the total area sown under Rabi crops has reached 614.30 lakh hectares, showing an increase of 6.87 lakh hectares over the corresponding period last year, according to official figures.

Bumper Australian crop meets soft global prices, limiting revenue upside.
Australia’s agricultural sector is poised for an exceptional winter crop harvest in 2025–26, but farmers may not fully benefit from their record output because global commodity prices remain weak, according to the latest report from the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics and Sciences (ABARES). The December Agricultural Commodities Report forecasts the total value of Australian crop production at $53.4 billion, a marginal rise of just 0.2% year-on-year, even though production volumes are expected to climb about 8%. Favourable seasonal conditions in regions such as Western Australia, Queensland and northern New South Wales have supported strong yields.

Government Launches Market Access Support Intervention under Export Promotion Mission to Strengthen Global Market Access for Indian Exporters.
The Government of India today launched the Market Access Support (MAS) Intervention under the Export Promotion Mission (EPM), a flagship initiative approved by the Union Cabinet on 12 November 2025. The MAS Intervention is being implemented under the NIRYAT DISHA sub-scheme of EPM and is aimed at strengthening international market access for Indian exporters, particularly MSMEs, first-time exporters and firms from priority sectors.
