Agricultural and Processed Food Export Development Authority (APEDA) organised a training-cum-workshop on mango pulp and mango processing in Krishnagiri on Thursday. The workshop called upon farmers to avail themselves of the benefits of the processing industry by managing post-harvest damage to the fruits.

India’s maize exports decline sharply on higher domestic demand.
India’s maize (corn) exports have declined sharply this year following a pick-up in domestic demand from segments such as ethanol manufacturers and feed makers. Besides, higher domestic prices have proved to be a dampener. 'Exports are taking place, but in limited quantities. During November and December, exports have taken place in good quantities, but before that the shipments were weak. However, compared to last year, the maize exports will be less,' said Rahul Chauhan of IGrain India.

Despite global uncertainties, India's exports are set to surge, said Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Santosh Kumar Sarangi, adding that exporters should tread the path pragmatically and wisely to navigate the current global trade contours. According to him, the current geo-political scenario presents a golden opportunity for India to propel exports and increase manufacturing competitiveness.

These schemes are not region or state specific but demand driven.

Govt committed to purchase 100 per cent of tur, says Chouhan.
In a bid to achieve self-sufficiency and encourage farmers to produce more, the government is committed to procuring 100 per cent of the tur (arhar) through central agencies, said Union Agriculture Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday. Also, the government has approved a total purchase of 27.99 lakh tonnes of gram (chana) and 28.28 lakh tonnes of mustard for the rabi marketing season 2025, besides extending the PM-Asha Yojana till 2025-26, according to an official statement.

Bangladesh: Ship carrying 9,500 tonnes of parboiled rice from India arrives at Ctg port.
Under the open tender agreement, a total of 4.5 lakh tonnes of rice is being imported from India in nine packages. Of this, around 2.97 tonnes have already arrived in the country, according to a press release from the Ministry of Food issued today (27 March). The sample testing of the rice on the vessel has been completed, and unloading operations will commence soon. Necessary preparations have been made to facilitate the process, the press release said.
