India top milk producer in the world: Animal Husbandry Minister.
India is the top producer of milk in the world and has set a target of producing 300 million metric tons (MMT) of milk in the next five years from the present 239 MMT, Union Minister of Animal Husbandry and Dairying Rajiv Ranjan Singh said in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday. Singh also said that ever since the Modi government has launched the Rashtriya Gokul Mission (RGM) in 2014, the milk production in the country has increased by 63.5 per cent and the government is hopeful of further increasing it by 15 per cent in next three years.

Afghanistan exported $500 million in goods to India despite Pakistani restrictions, official says.
Khan Jan Alokozai, a board member of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, said the closure of transit routes through Pakistan had prompted Afghan exporters to seek alternative trade corridors. He noted that the majority of exports to India consisted of dried fruits — traditionally one of Afghanistan’s leading agricultural exports. 'Despite the challenges, we managed to export over $500 million in goods to India in the past year,' Alokozai said.

The Government has taken various proactive measures aimed at enhancing domestic capacities, boosting exports, diversifying supply chains, exploring alternate sources of imports and fostering economic resilience, the Minister of State for the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Jitin Prasada, informed the Lok Sabha in a written reply on Tuesday. Quoted by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry in a release, the MoS informed the Parliament that the Foreign Trade Policy, effective from April 01, 2023 is designed to integrate India more effectively into the global market, improve trade competitiveness, and establish the country as a reliable and trusted trade partner.

Wheat stock limit expires on March 31; weekly stock disclosure begins from April 1.
The government has made it mandatory for the wheat industry and trade to declare weekly stock position on the portal starting April 1. The existing stock limit on wheat will expire on March 31. The Department of Consumer Affairs has said that to manage the overall food security and to prevent unscrupulous speculation, the Government of India has decided that traders, wholesalers, retailers, big chain retailers and processors have to declare their stock position of wheat on the portal from April 1 and then, on every Friday till further orders.
