India top milk producer in the world: Animal Husbandry Minister. India is the top producer of milk in the world and has set a target of producing 300 million metric tons (MMT) of milk in the next five years from the present 239 MMT, Union Minister of Animal Husbandry and Dairying Rajiv Ranjan Singh said in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday. Singh also said that ever since the Modi government has launched the Rashtriya Gokul Mission (RGM) in 2014, the milk production in the country has increased by 63.5 per cent and the government is hopeful of further increasing it by 15 per cent in next three years. Afghanistan exported $500 million in goods to India despite Pakistani restrictions, official says. Khan Jan Alokozai, a board member of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, said the closure of transit routes through Pakistan had prompted Afghan exporters to seek alternative trade corridors. He noted that the majority of exports to India consisted of dried fruits — traditionally one of Afghanistan’s leading agricultural exports. Bangladesh: 35,000 tonnes of rice arrive from India, Vietnam. Two ships carrying 35,000 tonnes of rice have reached the Chattogram port. Of the two consignments, 22,500 tonnes of boiled rice transported by the MV Tanais Dream came from India.
