Indian exports soften on global tariff uncertainties, government says. India's export growth has softened in the current fiscal year due to global tariff-related developments that have raised trade risks and affected investments and trade flows, the government said in its February economic report on Wednesday. India's exports are bound to grow in the coming years despite uncertainties over global trade and tariff, a senior government official said on Wednesday. 3rd Session of India-Uganda Joint Trade Committee held in New Delhi. The Third Session of the India-Uganda Joint Trade Committee (JTC) was held in New Delhi on 25th-26th March 2025. The session marked a significant step in strengthening India-Uganda trade relations after a gap of 23 years. Both sides reviewed the bilateral trade and agreed that the current trade volume does not reflect the full potential of economic collaboration. They resolved to take concerted efforts to enhance, deepen, and diversify bilateral trade. India surpasses Sri Lanka to become second largest tea exporter. Finally, the Indian tea industry, which has been reeling under problems for years, has something to cheer about. According to data released by the Tea Board of India, India has exported 254 million kg of tea in 2024, thus becoming the second-highest exporter in the world. India may play bigger role in global value chains soon. The NITI Aayog is working on a programme to improve India's penetration into global value chains for the growth of domestic micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), its chief executive BVR Subrahmanyam said on Wednesday. Observing that MSMEs are more affected by regulations than large companies, he said the PM has taken a major step towards deregulation and a task force under the cabinet secretary is working on it.
