'Bangladeshi onion importers await government nod before supplies from India can resume'. India's onion exports remain critical to international trade, but exporters continue to face challenges from unpredictable weather and restrictive trade policies, says Kiran Gandurde, Co-founder of Matoshree Fresh Foods. 'The current red onion season started much later than usual. Normally, we would see new crop arrivals by October, but prolonged rains pushed that back by 20 to 35 days. Global nuts and dried fruits body bets big on Gen-Z to promote consumption in India. Gen-Z is the target segment to promote consumption of nuts in India, Chairman of International Nut and Dried Fruit Council (INC) Ashok Krishen has said. Cashew consumption, processing to double in two decades, says all-India body. India’s cashew consumption and processing are likely to double by 2045 considering the emerging trends in cashew consumption. Speaking on ‘Future of cashew processing’ at the 100-year celebration of cashew processing in Mangaluru – ‘Kaju Centennial Summit 2025’ – on Saturday, Bola Rahul Kamath, President of All India Cashew Association (AICA), said Indian cashew consumption is expected to more than double by 2045. Cabinet Approves New Export Credit Guarantee Scheme, Launches Rs.25,000 Crore Export Promotion Mission. The Union Cabinet has approved a new Credit Guarantee Scheme for Exporters, offering 100 per cent credit guarantee to exporters, including MSMEs. This scheme will provide up to Rs. 20,000 crore in additional credit, strengthening liquidity and enhancing India’s global competitiveness.
