The Government of India is set to organise a series of nationwide workshops for edible oil manufacturers, refiners, and traders to ensure effective implementation of the newly introduced regulatory norms for the edible oil sector. The initiative aims to enhance transparency, ensure product quality, and strengthen consumer confidence in one of India’s most essential food segments. According to officials from the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, the workshops will be conducted in collaboration with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) and state food departments. These interactive sessions will educate stakeholders about compliance requirements under the updated Food Safety and Standards (Packaging and Labelling) Regulations and the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules. Commerce Secretary Shri Rajesh Agrawal met Mr. Vladimir Ilyichev, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, for the 26th Meeting of the India-Russia Working Group on Trade & Economic Cooperation under the aegis of the Inter-Governmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technological and Cultural Cooperation (IRIGC). The two sides reviewed bilateral trade, which has risen to well over twice the leaders’ 2014 benchmark of US$25 billion, and took note of the shared objective of US$100 billion by 2030. Govt to soon allocate Rs 2,000 cr for Credit Guarantee Scheme for Exporters. The government will soon allocate Rs 2,000 crore for the Credit Guarantee Scheme for Exporters announced by the Union Cabinet on Wednesday, sources said. National Credit Guarantee Trustee Company Limited (NCGTC) would require Rs 2,000 crore to extend credit facilities of up to Rs 20,000 crore to eligible exporters, sources said, adding that some money is already with the company.
